How to Safely Care for your Pearl Jewelry

Routine inspections and cleanings at Julz will help assure that your pearl jewelry is in good condition.  During an inspection, your jeweler looks for broken or worn prongs, weak clasps and worn strands.  This is a complimentary service we offer.  If items need repair, all of our work, including pearl-restringing, is done in house with our Certified Bench Jeweler.  We can also complete an appraisal at this time for insurance purposes.

mastoloniTo keep your pearls looking their best, you should have your pearls professionally cleaned and inspected at least once a year.  Ocean water, with its high salt content, can damage jewelry.  Exposure to chlorinated water and household cleaners can also damage jewelry.  Pearls are easily damaged by many personal products like cosmetics and lotions.

When not wearing your pearl jewelry, place each item in a separate soft container.  If cluttered together, your jewelry could scratch other pieces.
